(New York, New York, November 7, 2022) —The American Folk Art Museum’s Shop (2 Lincoln Sq., Columbus Ave. at W. 65th St.), named one of New York City’s best by Conde Nast and Straus News, is fully stocked for the holiday season with art books and games, home items, personal accessories, and an exclusive collection of Museum-inspired designs.

“We love the holidays at AFAM, and the Shop is poised to once again be a destination for New Yorkers and visitors to the City this season,” said Christopher Sanchez, General Manager of Retail.

Here are a few highlights of the Shop’s offerings this season:

For Readers

The Master of the Two Left Feet: Morris Hirshfield Rediscovered has been published to coincide with the critically acclaimed retrospective of Morris Hirshfield on view in the Museum’s galleries. Ten years in the making, the book, which includes the definitive catalogue of Hirshfield’s career as an artist, has been named one of the “best books of 2022” by The New Yorker

For the Home

From cheese knives with wooden handles shaped like mice to felt-flower bouquets, the Shop is featuring products for the home or office. Inspired by quilts in the AFAM collection, Spicher and Co’s vinyl floorcloths are a modern take on examples that were found in 18th century homes.

For Kids

With games, toys, books, and more the Shop is featuring a wonderful selection of products for children of all ages. Based on an illustration by Uta Krogmann, the New York City Life puzzle is an annual favorite, allowing friends and families to build a vibrant urban scene piece by piece.

For the Holidays

Through hand-made ornaments, beautiful greeting cards, and charming decorations, AFAM is a one-stop shop for items that spread cheer and warmth. From wintertime mice to depictions of Bernie Sanders, Julia Child, and Bob Ross, our ornaments delight the eye and add a charming touch to any room where they hang.

For the Stylish

Hand-picked earrings, pochettes, necklaces, scarves, and other must-have accessories will help ring in the new year with flair. The smooth leather double zip crossbody handbag comes in a variety of colors and is perfect for all seasons and occasions.
