Lawrence B. Benenson has served on the Board of Trustees of the American Folk Art Museum since 2008. An active participant in charitable and educational institutions, Mr. Benenson is a member of the Board of The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, Mosholu Montefiore Community Center in the Bronx, ART/OMI International Arts Center, Center for Arts in Education, Inner City Scholarship Fund, Ad Reinhardt Foundation, Al Hirschfeld Foundation, and Chess-in-the-schools. Mr. Benenson joined The Benenson Capital Company in 1990 and is a Partner and member of the company’s Executive Management and Investment Committee. Prior to joining The Benenson Capital Company, now Benenson Capital Partners, he worked for Rose Associates, a real estate investment and development firm. Mr. Benenson is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is also Head Co-Chairman of the Lincoln Center Real Estate and Construction Council. Mr. Benenson holds a BA in English from Duke University.
