Laura Parsons has served on the Board of Trustees of the American Folk Art Museum since 1999, Chair of the Board from 2011 to 2019, and President from 2004 to 2010. She is also a member of the Museum’s Legacy Society. Dr. Parsons received her BA in History from the University of Hawaii; MA in Early Childhood Special Education at Teachers College at Columbia University; and PsyD in Child School Psychology from New York University. Dr. Parsons is the Chair Emeritus of Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York, serves on the Board of Directors of Block Island Health Services and is on the Advisory Board of The Phoebe R. Berman Bioethics Institute of Johns Hopkins University.
