KAWS (Brian Donnelly) has served on the Board of Trustees of the American Folk Art Museum since 2019. KAWS received his BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York. He began his career as a graffiti artist while also working briefly in animation. KAWS gained notoriety for his ad interventions, but his oeuvre includes paintings, murals, graphic and product design, and large-scale sculptures.
