The American Folk Art Museum (AFAM) notes with sadness the passing of Joanna S. Rose. A dear friend to the Museum, Joanna’s incredible generosity and unparalleled collection of quilts came to beautiful fruition in Infinite Variety: Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts. The Museum was honored and humbled to work with Joanna on the exhibition, which dramatically transformed the Park Avenue Armory’s Wade Thompson Drill Hall with the installation of 650 red and white American quilts, all of which were on loan from the Joanna S. Rose collection.
The Board of Trustees, AFAM’s Director and CEO Jason T. Busch, and the Museum’s Staff extend their condolences to Daniel, David, Joe, Emily & Gideon Rose.
