The American Folk Art Museum mourns the passing of George Meyer, a former member of the Museum’s board and a Trustee Emeritus. A lawyer, scholar, and collector, George also served as President of the American Folk Art Society. Along with his wife Kay and their research partners, George produced the Folk Artists Biographical Index (1987), American Folk Art Canes: Personal Sculpture (1992), and Early American Face Jugs (2019).

The Museum’s staff and board extend its sympathies to Kay and the Meyer’s family and friends.
