Gail Wright Sirmans has served on the Board of Trustees of the American Folk Art Museum since 2018. She is the Vice-Chair of the Learning and Engagement Committee and a member of the External Affairs Committee, as well as the Diversity and Equity Task Force. Ms. Wright Sirmans, a Distinguished Fellow with the International Academy of Mediators, Board Member of the National Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Committee, and Council Member with the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution, is a certified neutral mediator and employment law consultant. She was previously an Associate Counsel with the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, and held a professorship at Pace Law School, and positions at Cornell University’s College of Industrial Relations. She has served on numerous not for profit boards, including the Asian American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, New Federal Theater, Parsons School of Design and Healing of the Nations. Ms. Wright Sirmans received her BA from the University of Rochester and her JD from Harvard University.
