A Message from Jason T. Busch

Dear Friend,

As we start the summer, the American Folk Art Museum has advanced its efforts to be a place of groundbreaking exhibitions, impactful programs, and award-winning scholarship.

Today, as ever, I am thinking about our mission. For many years, artists we celebrate were overlooked, having been left beyond the margins of the art world because of who they are or how they learned. Walking through our galleries, I see works produced by makers of diverse backgrounds that are inspiring new generations of students and artists, and redefining what it means to be a museum.

On our recent anniversary, actor Alan Alda shared why he supports the American Folk Art Museum. In his poignant words, I am reminded of what distinguishes us and our mission. As we recently shared on social media, all folks are welcome at AFAM.

To friends of the Museum, I am thankful that you recently visited, donated, or became a Member, because your support keeps us going. Cheers to a great summer!

In gratitude –
