American Folk Art Museum Elects New Trustee Chris Giglio

(New York, New York)—The Board of Trustees of the American Folk Art Museum (AFAM) announced today the election of Christopher (Chris) Giglio, Managing Director at Rubenstein, and a collector of American folk art. The election took place at the March 28 meeting of the Board.

“I am thrilled to welcome Chris to the Board,” said President Elizabeth V. Warren. “His expertise in strategic communications combined with his passion for folk art will further the Museum’s work to engage with local, national, and international audiences.”

The Museum’s Becky and Bob Alexander Director & CEO Jason T. Busch added: “Chris started collecting as a teenager and has been inspired by the American Folk Art Museum for decades. We are delighted that Chris’s lifelong fascination with folk art has led him to support the Museum and its mission.”

Giglio is a Managing Director at the strategic communications firm Rubenstein, where he runs their Issues Management and Corporate Reputation division, leading a group of media experts and advising a portfolio of clients drawn primarily from the corporate, financial, and civic sectors. He began his career at Kroll Associates, the global investigations firm, and later became an investigative producer at NBC News, on the news magazine program Dateline.

He holds a BA in History and Art History from Fordham University. He is a trustee of St. Jean Baptiste High School in New York and is a board member of Citizens Union. He is a member of the Century Association. Giglio and his husband, Larry Curran, reside in New York City and Sharon, Connecticut.
