The American Folk Art Museum mourns the passing of its dear friend Dr. Arthur Kern of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on March 6, 2018. Dr. Kern was a noted scholar and collector who, with his wife Sybil, authored many articles highlighting their original research for the museum’s Folk Art Magazine. Among the artists the Kerns identified are Joseph H. Davis, William Murray, and Jane Anthony Davis. The museum expresses its profound sadness at the loss of this true gentleman and scholar.
