Audrey Heckler, Vice President of the Board of Trustees

Audrey Heckler has served on the Board of Trustees of the American Folk Art Museum since 2011 and is a member of the Legacy Society. She went to Skidmore College for two years and then received a BA at Finch College. Ms. Heckler has decades of experience in the management and maintenance of real estate properties, and was president of the Gray Block Corporation, a commercial real estate business. She has also served on the Board of the Foundation for Self-Taught Artists. Her extraordinary collection of modern and contemporary self-taught art was published by the Museum in 2017 as The Hidden Art: Twentieth and Twenty-First Century Self-Taught Artists from the Audrey B. Heckler Collection, and exhibited in 2019 as Memory Palaces: Inside the Collection of Audrey B. Heckler respectively. In 2020, Ms. Heckler announced the gift of her collection to AFAM.
