Family Story Hour: Celebrating Paa Joe's Ghana

Join us for story hour and a drawing workshop. Participants will join writer and educator Nicole Haroutunian in a live reading of stories (A is for Accra by Ekow Pierre and Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears: A West African Tale by Verna Aardema) about Ghana and West Africa, the homeland of exhibition artist Paa Joe.

Families and Folk Art is held the first Saturday of every month. This program introduces children ages 4 to 12 and their accompanying adults to folk art through interactive discussion-based tours in the galleries followed by hands-on artmaking activities inspired by objects in the museum. Museum admission is always free. Space is limited; registration required.
