Join us for an exciting collaboration with the Queens Memory Project at the Hunters Point Queens Public Library for an afternoon of connection, art exploration, and a hands-on workshop.
Inspired by artwork from AFAM’s collection that draw on the theme of memory, in this “ Family Memory Box” workshop, participants will explore the idea and process behind personal and family archiving and have a chance to make memory boxes to take home. Bring a family member or a friend, grab your family holiday mementos (such as photos, postcards, and special objects) and get ready to create!
Spanish-speaking staff will also be at the event for bilingual accessibility. This workshop is free and no registration is required. For questions, please email cmaturell@folkartmuseum.org
Queens Memory is an ongoing community archiving program supported by Queens Public Library and Queens College, CUNY that aims to record and preserve contemporary history across the New York City borough of Queens.
