In this interactive program, we will look at works of art in the galleries that were made by folk artists for, with, or encouraged by their own family members. Inspired by intergenerational creative practices, participants will use a variety of materials inspired by the unique objects they have seen to create their own artwork to give away to a loved one (if they can part with it, that is!).
Families and Folk Art introduces children ages 4 to 12 and their accompanying adults to folk art through interactive discussion followed by hands-on artmaking activities inspired by objects in the museum.
