Families and Folk Art: All About Animals!

The current exhibit, American Weathervanes: The Art of the Winds, explores the artistry and cultural significance of these unique sculptural forms. This program introduces a variety of animal-themed vanes—from birds, butterflies, and bears to dragons and other mythological creatures, families will explore several examples from the exhibit and learn about the symbolism behind these sculptures.

Families are invited to join this virtual program for a discussion around the theme of weathervanes, and will construct their own.

Registrants will be provided with a simple list of materials to assemble before the program so that we can make art together. For families with children ages 4 and up. Please contact familyprograms@folkartmuseum.org to learn more or register here.

Zoom link will be sent with confirmation of registration.

Families and Folk Art is supported by the estate of Marlene Gordon.
