Jalopy Theatre Presents Joanna Sternberg
On the first Friday of each month, Jalopy Theatre sponsors music at the American Folk Art Museum as part of a continuing partnership. This month, Jalopy Theatre presents Joanna Sternberg, a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist living in New York City.
Sternberg, who recently released a new album, primarily plays the double bass. Other instruments Joanna plays are electric bass, guitar, piano, banjo, and harmonica. Joanna sings and writes songs, and regularly performs her original music. Styles of music that Joanna plays are: folk, country, blues, rock, ragtime, classical, gospel, funk, rhythm and blues, klezmer, and jazz (ranging from the style of the 1920s to the present day.) Joanna’s playing is used to accompany her original folk music which features elements of country and blues.
