Tonight's Performance

5:30 pm

Jalopy Theatre Presents: Miriam Elhajli

On the first Friday of each month, Jalopy Theatre sponsors music at the American Folk Art Museum as part of a continuing partnership.

Tonight’s performance features Miriam Elhajli.

Miriam is a Venezuelan-Moroccan-American composer and vocalist whose work is influenced strongly by Latin American folk, modern jazz, and contemporary classical music. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, she currently lives in Brooklyn where she performs and conducts Ethnomusicological research on the vocal music of Amazighi women.

The program presented will combine a repertoire of original compositions, Venezuelan “llanero” music, and nonsense.
