American Made: Treasures from the American Folk Art Museum

July 2–September 18, 2016

More than one hundred artworks from the museum’s collection will be on view July 2–September 19 at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The exhibition examines the exuberant art made by self-taught practitioners who were fueled by revolutionary fervor and enlightenment philosophy. Their creativity shaped American identity and visual culture, and further reflected the practical nature of young America, whose citizenry most valued art that was functional. This exhibition was organized by the American Folk Art Museum in collaboration with Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
